Comfortable, stylish, practical, breathable and waterproof - breeks are a classic piece of shooting kit. Whether you're looking for moleskin or tweed breeks, traditional buckle or Velcro fastening we've compiled some of the best women's shooting breeks for this season.
What are breeks?
Shooting breeks are an indispensable addition to any shooting wardrobe, especially when attending a formal shooting event. Traditionally crafted from tweed or moleskin, breeks sit just below the knee and are designed to be tucked into long socks.
The advantages of shooting breeks, over trousers, is their shorter in leg length - they are designed to be cut below the knee. This avoids the uncomfortable feeling of tucking trousers into socks and wellies or the top of walking boots. Additionally, breeks create a waterproof seal with socks and boots and prevent water and moisture from soaking your legs.
Our very own Lucy comments “breeks are my go-to when standing on the peg, along with looking smart and being extremely comfortable they keep me dry on those days where you’re battling the elements. As a general rule of thumb, I grab my moleskin for those early in the season days and technical breeks for those washout days as they never let the rain in.”
